The Ihinger Hof research site is located about 30 minutes north-east of Hohenheim University in Stuttgart. The experiment field at Ihinger Hof is a piece of low quality arable land, notably because of its shallow stony soil.
In 2021 four genotypes were planted; Miscanthus x giganteus, GNT10, SYN55 and GNT43 in combination with miscanthus mulch and plastic mulch to see if these treatments resulted in better establishment.
In 2022 trials continued with SYN55, Miscanthus x giganteus, and GNT43 testing the same treatments as well as the effect of fertilizer on establishment.
